The hall is booked. Everyone can see it.
Resource booking that speaks your school's language — Period 3, Day 6, Week 4 of Term 3 — not generic calendar slots. Staff book rooms, halls, theatres, vans and gear in a few clicks, and nobody double books the gym again.

Most booking systems were not built for a school day
Schools do not run on nine-to-five hourly slots. They run on periods, on a rotating timetable day, inside terms, around public holidays. A generic room booking tool makes staff translate all of that in their heads — and they get it wrong.
Booked in real periods
Your periods, your names, your times. If Period 3 runs 11:10 to 11:49 on a Day 6, that is exactly what staff book.
Knows your term dates
Repeat a booking weekly and it stops at the end of term, skips the holidays, and never lands on a day the school is closed.
Availability first
Staff see what is free before they fill anything in. No form, no submit, no "sorry, that has gone".
"Every Tuesday, Period 3, for the rest of term"
That one sentence is most of the bookings a school makes. It is also where most systems quietly get it wrong — booking through the holidays, or landing on the wrong period because the timetable rotates.
- Choose same timetable day and every booking lands on the same period of the cycle, even though the calendar date shifts.
- Term breaks and public holidays are skipped, taken from the school calendar you already maintain.
- Every date is listed before you commit, and you can untick any you do not want.
- Clashes are flagged on the spot, so nothing fails silently halfway through the run.

One system, from the laptop trolley to the theatre
Every resource has different rules. Set them once and the booking form adapts itself.
Vans and minibuses
Ask for the destination, the driver's mobile and the department. Limit who may book them at all.
Halls and theatres
Send bookings to an approver, require an agreement, and charge outside groups without charging staff.
Rooms and spaces
Meeting rooms, seminar rooms, the library. Book a single period or a whole day in one go.
Equipment
Laptop trolleys, sports gear, gazebos and marketing stands. Anything you need back on Monday.
Control without the queue at the office door
Approvers get a list they can sort, filter and clear in bulk. Restricted resources stay restricted. Everyone else just books and gets on with the day.
Book the van as part of the trip approval
A trip or EOTC request already goes through an approval chain in SchoolBridge Staff Forms. The van it needs gets booked separately, by hand, in another screen — and the two drift apart. The trip is declined and the van stays booked. The dates move and nobody moves the booking.
Pick your resources while filling in the trip request, and the booking is created and held straight away — so nobody else takes the van — then follows the form from there.
Tell us how your school runs tripsThe booking follows the form
Nobody has to remember to go and tidy it up.
Held, not just pencilled in
A held booking really blocks the slot. Nobody takes the van out from under a trip that is still being approved.
Moves without breaking
Change the trip from the 12th to the 19th and every attached booking moves too — with a clash check, so you find out before it is saved rather than after.
Trips that skip days
A camp running Monday, Wednesday and Friday books those three days, not the whole week.
