From nothing to booking, in an afternoon
If your school class times and term dates are already in SchoolBridge, most of the setup is already done. Here is the rest of it.
Set your school times
Enter the periods your school runs — Before School, Period 1, Interval, and so on — with the times attached. Need a different shape on a Day 5, or on one particular Friday? Add an override for that day or date and everything else keeps the standard pattern. Overlapping periods are caught before you can save them.
Add your resources
Group them the way staff already talk about them. A Vehicles collection holding two vans and a truck. A Rooms collection holding the seminar room and the staffroom. Each item inside a collection can be booked independently, so two people can take two different vans in the same period.
Decide the rules
Per resource: who approves bookings, who is allowed to book it at all, what the form asks for, how far ahead it must be booked, and whether it can be booked at weekends. Naming an approver is what makes a resource need approval — there is no separate switch to forget.
Let staff book
Staff open the day grid, see what is free and click it. The form only asks what that resource needs. If it repeats, they see every date it will create before anything is saved.
Keep an eye on it
Approvers clear their queue. Office staff can search every booking, change a status, reassign one to a different person, or delete a whole repeating run. Statistics show what is being used and what it earned.
What you will need
- SchoolBridge, with your staff already signing in
- Your term dates and timetable days in the school calendar
- A list of the resources you want bookable
- A decision on who approves the controlled ones
What you will not need
- A separate login for staff
- A spreadsheet on a shared drive
- A whiteboard outside the office
- Anyone to rekey bookings from a paper form
A booking, end to end
What a teacher actually does when they need the hall every Tuesday for the rest of term.
Open the day
Pick Hall from the tabs, land on today, step to the Tuesday they want.
Click a free period
Period 3 is green. One click opens the form with the date, period and hall already filled in.
Set it to repeat
Weekly, eight times. The dates appear straight away, with the term break already dropped out.
Check and confirm
A review screen lists all eight dates, flags one clash, and they untick it. Done.
We will do the first setup with you
A short call is usually enough to get your resources in and your rules set.
